Mubarak um unfortunately I cannot fast
because I'm training um you know this is
my job this how I feed my family and you
know Allah Allah understands he knows my
intentions so um you know right now I'm
doing my job you know training making my
five prayers you know um inshallah make
you know all five if I miss if I miss
the five um make it up inshallah um but
you know Ramadan is is uh the holy month
of you know for for for us Muslims and a
very important month it seems that every
year I seem to to be fighting around
this time but like I said Allah is a
perfect planner he you know um he he he
plans you know for for everything so um
I can't fast last year I did half a
Ramadan fasting for two weeks and then
you know once my training ramped up and
I was you know sparring and I was
training two to three times a day um it
was very hard for me to to fast so this
year I am you know I can't fast but um
you know I'm doing the things you know
making myau giving back um doing you
know the things that's um that Allah you
know wants me to do and um you know I
feel like during Ramadan I get stronger
you know Allah Allah gives me the
strength you know my my family my
friends everyone is fasting and um you
know I'm right there with him so you
know I feed off their off their strength
and um it gives me that extra

Charleston get that uh that elevation in
the hardest run of my life but it's
worth it cuz uh they get you in that
that tip top shape it's what these guys
not doing especially in the snow

stopwatches start at zero right now so
when they start hitting up that hill
I'll keep track of their times uh they
got mile markers as you go up and uh
they're always being competitive so
they're always trying to compete and
beat their best time so that's what
you're going to see today they're going
to do it in in the snow weather that
that might benefit them it might not you
know it's it's 4,000 FT elevation all
the way to the top uh with that cold air
going into your lungs uh we we'll see
how they manage it it's a mind game with
that heel okay and and Devon has shown
over and over and over and over in every
situation that he has a strong mind he's
able to overcome things that most people
can't so he's going to conquer the hill
