welcome all to the most exciting version
of a reading for 24-Hour straight video
I have ever done firstly because it's
with Sarah and Destiny they both have
book channels and we come from our three
different states flew to the same
airport and then Road tripped to a book
hotel Yes you heard that right it's an
entire Hotel themed around books and it
has an entire library inside and we are
going to try to read for 24 hours
straight together and as you can imagine
it gets a little
crazy I'm about to begin my 24-hour
readathon with the book girl please
these are our tbrs you're going to have
to watch their videos to see their tbrs
get read the first rule we're going to
try to read the entire 24 hours straight
through the night all nighter number two
we're going to read one book that's the
same all at the same time and number
three I might try to read a book from
the book hotel oh we're all so nervous
same book 24 hours let's go okay ready 3
2 2
1 oh gosh
[Music]
we are an hour and 20 minutes in kind of
fast and we're all reading MAD Honey by
jod pickle who is a very famous author
yeah it says on here that it's Good
Morning America book club Pi yeah so
it's a very like book Clubby but usually
those ones are really good so it's kind
of like a literary fiction but there's a
mystery because somebody died and we get
two point of views the mom of this boy
named Asher who is dating a girl named
Lily and we're also getting Lily's point
of view and Lily dies you find that out
very quickly it's on the back of the
book so now we're just trying to figure
out what's going on and there's lots of
backstory lots of ominous Clues we have
beekeeping as like the backdrop of the
story because Olivia the mom is a
beekeeper lots of bee metaphors going on
it's a little bit ominous you don't know
why she's saying things like the queen
bee will just kill this other bee and
kick them out and we should really learn
things from that it's like okay what are
you talking about I'm 66 in the only
thing I'm feeling so far is that it's
just very sad like it's just been so sad
the whole time that I'm excited for when
we get to read like a cute little
romance after this I feel like I'm
liking it okay I feel like y'all are
liking it less I'm liking it I'm not
liking it I feel like I get we're in the
setup of it but it is sad though it kind
of reads like an Ellen Hilder book not
like the writing but like in what you
said where I feel like when I read an
Ellen hbr book I always say that I feel
like the like Rich wi and you're sitting
on the beach and you're just reading
like a book but sometimes the beekeeping
stuff I'm like hey I'm over here and I
should be right here
if you did it a little bit but we like
be in a super interesting part where you
want to read more about it and then she
like goes off into the beekeeping which
is probably intentional cuz it ties back
in in some way but I'm like listen you
had my attention now it's like going
this way until we go back into what we
were just talking about just loves the
be yeah we're really just in the setup
phase but it does feel like she's
weaving a sort of Masterpiece so I'm
excited to see how it
[Music]
continues night 18 hours left meaning
we've done 5 hours yeah is that right
yeah we've read for 5 hours and I'm only
50% through the book Destiny finished it
at 4 hours Destiny's our fastest reader
friend ever but she can also retain the
information more than all of us it's
very impressive I got to see her
reactions to the end of the book my
biggest thing with this book is just the
pacing because at like 75 pages I was
like oh we're just getting started with
the book which 75 pages is kind of a lot
to get started like I feel like after 70
80 Pages you should be in the plot and
then I feel like at page 100 finally we
have a plot we have a court case and I
actually really like reading about court
cases I feel like those move by really
fast I like the dialogue and I feel like
if she would have just rearranged the
parts of the story it would have flowed
better but because of how she chose to
like switch timelines as soon as we gain
momentum we just hit the brakes really
fast and then defy finishing it and me
still having 50% left I was like okay
this is really demotivating me for the
beginning of a 24-hour readathon and
also there are lots of trigger warnings
for this book but this book in
particular is making me feel so sad and
dark I need to just not be reading this
and I need to sit outside with a romance
book looking at this pile there are so
many that I'm excited to read and I'm
also already 138 pages into thank you
for listening by Julia whan she's one of
the most famous audiobook narrators and
this book is about an Audi book narrator
and if you listen to the Audi book she
narrates it so it's a really fun book I
started reading it and then listening to
it on the plane so I'm going to go
outside probably to lift my spirits if I
get really bored I can listen to it and
play a game of chess and I feel like I
just need the momentum of this challenge
to go because having 19 more hours is is
demotivating if you don't like the book
that you're reading MAD honey DN on to
thank you for
listening I say we were good
[Music]
together I was say we have
fun but our tra will never run
[Music]
forever something else is just on your
mind we're in the lobby now which is
just like right underneath our room
these are all of the rooms by the way
and there are strangers over there but
it just doesn't feel like a hotel it
feels like a house I am on Page 302 we
have 16 and 1/2 hours left which means
we've been reading for 6 and 1/2 hours I
think I have 90 pages of this book left
and it's getting so cute and Destiny is
reading a book that I love and they kind
of have similar not plots but like vibes
yeah and I literally picked this up
because you said I picked up nor on
script because you like this author and
then I was like oh I'll read this book
afterward I feel like there's something
about maybe it's like the age of these
characters but I feel like it's just so
fun like it feels comforting even though
I've never read this author before and I
just really like it so
[Music]
far I'm trying to do the math on how
long we've been reading we have 14 and
1/2 hours left have we've been reading
for 9 and 1/2 hours it's almost 7:00
p.m. it's crazy I finished thank you for
listening and it was really really good
the main character in this book had a
freak accident happen and she has an eye
patch and a scar across her face and I
really liked her talking about the
before and after of something big
happening in your life and kind of
viewing yourself as like only the after
version and always wishing you were who
you were before something happened I
thought that was really great and I just
love a good You've Got Mail moment where
like as the reader you know that you're
reading text messages about two people
who already know each other but they
just don't know that they know each
other and there was a lot of like text
messages in these books so it was really
fast to read those parts and yeah it was
really easy to just not it bored and I
think I'm going to give this a solid
four stars which I'm really happy about
cuz I always looked at this and felt
like I would like it and I did really
really really enjoy it so four stars
recommend if you want to read about
people who do audio books and now when
considering what to read next I have
love interest by CLA Gilmore this is a
workplace romance I've never seen anyone
talk about this so it feels like I would
just really be going into something
blind which feels scary like sometimes I
look at books like this and I just
assume they'll be three stars which is
wrong of me I just don't know what to
think of it I have the paradise problem
which is the new Christina Lauren book
but I also could picture myself reading
this like on a beach so I don't know
about that I have the resort which looks
like a tropical mystery but I don't want
to feel dark at all like I still feel
like I need something really happy or
Ready or Not which is a pregnancy that
you follow so I don't really want to
read this right now and when I was
talking about one of the challenges
being reading a book from this hotel I
might end up up just rereading one of my
favorite books if I can find something
on here let's do a bit of shopping and
see what I should read
next I love this book Finley Donovan is
killing it love other words all these
are like new books none of them have
cracks in the spine which feels like a
big responsibility people meet on
vacation little acatar
reread starting to think I should just
read one of my own
books there's an arc in here Advanced
readers that's crazy that someone put an
ark
[Music]
in not finding anything we have 13 hours
and 30 minutes left and all of us are
hitting the point where we're trying to
figure out what to read next Sarah's
trying to find a book I'm trying to find
a book I listen to Finley Donovan is
killing it for 30 minutes while I play
chess which is a book I've already given
five stars and I don't really like the
narrators for that book so I didn't
after that I think we're going to try to
read love interest it takes place in
Manhattan and like I said workplace
romance that I've never seen single
thing about and the dedication says
publishing this book is the scariest
thing I've ever done which I feel like
just is kind of exciting to read what
she wrote I'm reading Off to the Races
by Elsie silver and I'm talking like
this cuz this is how I hear them talk in
the series Kindle unlimited reck I don't
know someone give me a wck oh I should
go on Tik Tok I haven't been on Tik
Tok and you say glor
please don't
Me Oh Glory of
[Applause]
please don't
hey guys guys we're about to hit 12
hours which would be halfway and I'm so
relieved and excited right now because
this book is kind of eating so far we're
only 50 pages in but the main love
interest guy is korean-american that
slay I can't remember the last time I
read a book where one of the main
characters was Asian other than tomorrow
and tomorrow tomorrow where he was like
half asian half white which is what I
what I am if you're new and then the
thing that I do not relate to is that
she Works in New York City and she's
like a financial analyst so she's really
good at math she was competing for a
higher up position with this man Alex
but he gets the job and then she finds
out that he is the son of the chair on
the boards on the board the Boardman the
boards chair I don't know how to say
that basically nepotism a little bit and
so they're kind of like enemies but then
also another thing about this book is
that they have some sort of like YouTube
channel going on in their office
building and they get asked to be part
of a segment on the YouTube channel so I
just feel like I have a lot of things to
relate to in this book so far and the
writing is really good and I really like
the chemistry between the two characters
so far even though we've only gotten
little glimpses so this is great cuz I
really need a good book going into the
night time it's 9:00 p.m. now and I'm
just waiting any second now to open up
an energy drink because we're going to
pull in all nighter and I've not done
that in so long 50 pages in I'm going to
keep reading but I'm really excited
everyone guys it's hit that time where
it's so late in the night guess what
time it is y'all it's 9:00 we're getting
kind of loopy already oh I think there's
four YouTubers here five yeah five I
wish I was hula hoop right halfway
through we're cracking open our cold
ones three 2
one woo I ruined it m I have a 100 Mig
of caffeine Alani new Cherry Slush and
Sarah has an Olli poop because she is
sensitive to ca I can't believe our
faces are being captured from five
different angles
that is unreal guys no cameras please
why am I kind of getting nervous it's
freaking me out M I'm almost 40% into it
okay okay okay how about you guys page
90 Sarah fast thank you guys Sarah's
just like that little cutie like you're
embarrassing
me oh
wow I'm reading I'm reading so fast ha
normal work hours that's a good one
[Applause]
it's almost 1:00 a.m. have my invisaline
in we have 8 and 1/2 hours left and I'm
on page 224 and as of now this book is a
five star to me I know crazy I was
falling asleep there for a second so I
just woke up I probably was asleep for
like 1 minute but I have to just tell
you the list of things that I have in
common with this book which is so
unexpected and it's funny because I read
how to end a love story and I was like
this book taught me that I hate
situationships guess what this has and
I'm saying it's a five star so my mind
has been changed I keep falling asleep
even sitting
up breaking open and then get back
together so sleep this is good cuz if
your eyes go down you can't CL like you
can't Sarah provided the under eye
patches you really can't look down
anymore okay I have 4 actually helping
me not close my eyes yeah physically it
doesn't feel good when you go like
this you look cute when
them
thanks you look so
cozy I go to bed
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
2: a.m. coffee shop opens at 6:00 a.m. 4
more hours and we can walk on over so
that's my next deadline in my head
morning in
Pennsylvania oh wow I look tired I fell
asleep from 3:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. but I
would wake up sometimes or wait I woke
up at like 6:00 I think started
downloading powerful by Lauren Roberts
and then fell asleep as it was opening
and then woke up at 6:30 and we have 30
minutes till this coffee shop opens so
I'm going to actually read the novel
now
drifted is no use trying to pretend and
I know that is
over got the look on your
face it's so hard to
whisper we have 1 hour left I felt like
I was going to upchuck in the coffee
shop for some reason and I was
legitimately falling asleep like
physically my eyes cannot stay open and
I'm the only one who's struggling right
now and I think it's because I took too
long of a nap it wasn't like 30 minutes
like 3 and 1/2 hours in the middle of
the night and I'm really struggling now
but I finished love interest last night
and this book was so good I need to go
into detail when I'm not exhausted but I
just related to so many different things
the main character he's Asian he's an
inog 7 that's what I am I hesitate to
say this because I feel like it's really
high praise and then the comparison's a
little bit weird so if you read it
thinking about the comparison it'll just
not live up to the hype but it just gave
me similar feelings as to when I read
beach readed by Emily Henry and it's
probably not because the book books are
similar but because I just connected
that deeply with the characters in each
of these books so in my brain this is
like a 4.75 star book right now and then
I'm reading the powerful Nolla on my
Kindle right now which is a Nolla after
powerless by Lauren Robert which is
fantasy which I haven't read in a long
time but it's like perfect it's 250
Pages I'm 100 pages in and I've been
craving fantasy but then also scared of
it so this is like the perfect
digestible fun fantasy where it's not
hurting my brain especially falling
asleep and having one 1 hour left I
can't even talk let's go finish
reading 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3
2 oh my gosh
I we did it oh yeah we did it we're done
we done we did it guys yes you here
okay we have finished the 24-hour
reading video the effects that it took
on our mental are big Destiny is the
only one who survived the entire night
and she also hold up how many books you
read plus I'll put the ones on the
screen that she also read 1 2 3 4 5 six
she read 6 and A2 books I read these two
fully plus almost done with this Nolla
plus 50% of mad honey this book which we
were doing the math if we would have
finished that book it would have taken
10 hours but then this was was a Sligh
it was four stars highly recommend this
book this one I feel like I need an
entire 10 minutes to talk about this
book and I won't even do it right now
but I loved it so much I related to so
many different things about the
characters and I want to see this book
hyped up and people reading it I love it
I want you guys to read it I L added it
to a monthly TBR a few months ago and
then I never read it buy it today for
good good I just always looked at it and
thought it'd be three stars and I think
it's like
4.75 wow and maybe five if I continue
thinking about I kind of want to reread
the end when I'm not you know 2 a.m.
reading it so good I'm so happy that I
found this book but I finished this one
at 2:30 a.m. I believe and that's a
rough time to finish a book because
having to choose a new one that's why I
went to bed and I thought they were
asleep so I was like okay I'm going to
just take a little nap I slept for the
longest I slept for 3 and 1/2 hours and
then I struggled my way through the
Nolla powerful this morning but I love
it so far and I'm going to save the
ending of that book for when I am of
sound mind yes of sound mind cuz I think
I'm really going to enjoy that one I
read well same thing as haly I D have
this one at the same time as her
invisible Girl by Lisa Jewel the rule
book and then I finished powerful the
Nolla this morning too this was our
buddy read and I finished it then I
finished the rule book then I read next
nope same time next summer I keep on
saying this wrong read this because of
Haley and loved it then I read Off to
the Races by LC silver then I read dark
matter flip-flopped through a few books
and then I finished off with Mrs Nash's
ashes woo yeah if you'd like to see the
aftermath of our mental state you can go
watch this Vlog that will come out one
day we stayed at a book hotel vlog go
watch their videos go to sleep tonight
go to sleep
bye like we're so tired oh
