Q & A
What challenge does the player face after taking a break from playing in the world?
-The player faces the challenge of losing their short-term memory of the world, which includes not being able to remember where they put their items and what they were doing in their projects.
What was the player's previous inefficient method for transporting items in their storage system?
-The previous inefficient method involved a minecart system that would pick up one item from a series of hoppers, travel down a track, and then go up a water elevator to a shulker loading system, taking about 30 seconds per item drop-off.
How did the player improve the efficiency of their minecart system?
-The player improved efficiency by making the minecart bounce back and return down the same track after reaching the end, eliminating the need for an extra track below. They also adjusted the system to only go up the elevator every nine cycles, reducing the time spent on transporting items.
What is the maximum number of items the player's minecart system can drop off per cycle, and how did they determine this?
-The maximum number of items the system can drop off per cycle is 18. They determined this by conducting a test with a minecart loaded with items and observing how many items were dropped off in a hopper as it passed by.
How does the player's new storage system prevent the minecart from running out of a certain item and getting a void spot?
-The new system prevents this issue by using a counter mechanism that only allows the minecart to go up the elevator every nine cycles, ensuring that it has collected enough items to drop off without running out.
What was the time reduction achieved by the player's new storage system compared to the old one?
-The new storage system reduced the time to restock a stack of every item in the shulker box from about an hour and a half to about 10 minutes, which is over eight times faster.
What is the main goal of the player's storage project in this episode?
-The main goal of the player's storage project is to get the system up and running with bare bones functionality, allowing them to drop off items, pick them up, and start using it like a storage room.
How does the player plan to make the storage system more efficient for their future use?
-The player plans to add more features to the storage system over time as needed, such as automatic sorting and refilling mechanisms, to make it more efficient and useful for their in-game activities.
What is the player's strategy for dealing with unstackable items in their storage system?
-The player uses item frames to store unstackable items and plans to create a special area for them in the future. They also mention the possibility of turning iron nuggets into ingots and ingots into blocks for more efficient storage.
How does the player handle nostalgia when cleaning up old storage areas?
-The player acknowledges the nostalgia but decides to clean up most of the old storage areas, keeping only a few special items, like their first chest, furnace, crafting table, and pickaxe, as reminders of their early gameplay.

boy I tell you it is really challenging
if you ever take a few weeks off of
playing in a world and you go back to it
you lose like all your short-term memory
of that world I have no idea where I put
so much of my stuff and I'm like going
around trying to find things here and I
look at my Ender Chest it's like oh
that's weird there's those shulker boxes
in there what did I do with those I had
to go find them they're in my man cave
storage room for some reason um and then
you got to remember it's like okay where
did I leave off on that project we spent
the last three episodes working on this
endless storage room and I was trying to
get this done before hermitcraft started
um but didn't quite make it so now we
got to resume and figure out where what
we got to do on this and all that so
that's that's been fun uh and then also
it's like you see things in a new light
if you go away from it for a few weeks
and I was looking at this it's like why
why on Earth was I doing it that way it
doesn't make any sense it's so
inefficient yeah so in the last episode
we were working out the storage mine
cart setup here we had it coming from
that end this way and as it passes by
these Hoppers it would pick up one item
out of each of them and it takes about 5
or 10 seconds to travel down here right
and then we would make it go up this
water elevator to our shocker loading
system and it takes a good 30 seconds to
get through this thing where it's
basically just dropping off one item uh
and then it would fall down and we built
a set track underneath this
one uh where is it I I tore out part of
it already yeah there's another track
that would return it to the other end
where it was basically doing nothing
while traveling down here now we change
it so that when it gets to the end here
it bounces back and returns down the
same track and that way it's twice as
efficient and we don't need to set up
that extra track below but by far the
biggest inefficiency here was sending it
to this uh water drop off thing every
single time because if you're only
picking up one or two items per cycle
how many are we dropping off here uh
let's do the test let's find out so
we're going to load up a mine cart with
some items we'll send it into the water
here and just see how many it drops off
in this Hopper as it passes by and that
will give us our maximum amount it can
drop off per cycle right 18 okay so 18
is the most it'll drop off and that
means since we're picking up an item on
the arrival and also on the return trip
now two items per cycle we only need to
make it go up this elevator thing every
nine Cycles it'll have 18 items and
that's the maximum it'll be able to drop
off and that also prevents it from ever
running out of a certain item in the
mine carts where it'll get a void spot
which was a known issue with the system
before we kind of figur out how to solve
that now and we do it using a counter
down below we're just using a hopper
clock as a counter if you lock the
Hoppers like this and you send a
redstone torch a pulse it just allows
one item through each time mine cart
goes here so it just sent an item
through and then we run a redstone torch
up from the hopper clock to the junction
above is it switched right now yeah it
switched right now so this light is on
and it'll allow it to go through up the
elevator there aha yeah so I just did
some math on this to figure out how long
it's going to take and the way we had it
at the end of last episode where like it
would only pull out one item per cycle
and go up the elevator um doing it that
way it would have taken about an hour
and a half to restock a stack of every
item in the Sher box here like to pull
items out of storage and put them in the
Shuler
loader that's a lot of time this new
method now that we're not wasting any
time with our mine carts uh we got down
to about 10 minutes to do a full refill
on the Shuler which is quite a bit
better it's like over eight times the
speed Montage time yeah so my main goal
with this project is to get it up and
running this episode like get it Bare
Bones functional to the point where we
can drop stuff off here pick stuff up
and start using it like a storage room
then over time I'll add more and more
features to it as I feel like it and
hopefully it'll turn into something
really
cool uh but I do realize like this
project it's a little bit more for me
than it is for you guys I think like
it's not the most entertaining thing
we've done and it's going to save me a
lot of time when it's done though it's
going to be real nice I I won't have to
run around my world looking for stuff
you know I won't have to worry about
like where I'm going to store things
anymore cuz cuz they'll have a space
like Infinite Space for stuff here that
kind of thing um but I do realize like
at this point it's probably starting to
all feel repetitive to you it's probably
blurring together in your minds where
everything looks the same at this point
we just got to get it done so I decided
let's this work uh buckle down here get
a bunch done ended up spending I think
two or 3 days just building it not
really adding anything new from what
I've shown you it's just like I had to
copy what we did to the other 15 units
and it just the scale of things it's not
even that it's complex it's just such a
large scale it takes a long time to get
stuff done here had to farm up a bit
more resources as well like lamps and
that kind of thing were needed and ice
and and stuff like that too got the
water streams installed but I'll kind of
catch you up where we're at now and
hopefully we can start putting stuff in
here so let's let's check it out well
here we go this is how our main hall is
looking at the moment so we filled it in
with soul soil here we still got to put
slabs over top of this decorate it make
it look nice all that jazz will come
later but we did get the Shocker loaders
all installed all 16 of them did the
water streams from them all and each one
of these is going to correspond to a
different shocker box we want to keep in
our Ender Chest each one of these things
and then whenever we run low on an item
we just take it out of our Ender Chest
replace it with the one that's here and
then put the f one in our ender chest
and we have an automatic instant refill
because it's also pulling the items
automatically out of our storage and
refilling it there so it's going to be
really really nice I think so most of
the time I think we're going to be
spending in the main hall here we only
will need to go down these tunnels if we
need a lot of something for a project
we'll pull it directly out of the
barrels then we added in these lamps did
the comparator stuff here it's a
basically a giant and gate if any of
these are out of something the light
will be off and there's nothing in our
storage room right now so they're all
off if any one of them is off though it
goes down to all these torches and it
triggers this line and it basically
locks The Junction
now where it won't go up the water
elevator because you got to keep in mind
if our storage mine cart runs out of
something we don't want it dropping off
items cuz then it'll get a void spot in
the mine cart and then something else
will take its place and it's going to
mess up the order of everything so this
is like a preventative measure for that
before we had a piston here that would
move the soul soil block and I realize
you know again we're just wasting time
if we do that it's just going to sit in
the water here doing nothing let's keep
it moving on the track so it can pick up
whatever items it needs still if we look
down the tunnels you can see we also got
our indicator blocks here so now we can
tell what goes in each of these slices
what each of the barrels is for for some
of the items you can't actually place
them in the world or you can like like
this water stuff for example it just
might not look the best having floating
water in our storage room nor would my
Redstone really appreciate that probably
so I just ended up putting a lot of
things into item frames we might adjust
that in the future though like we might
put down grass or something for to grow
these things on I'm I'm not sure exactly
we also had to make sure each of these
items lines up with the item filters
above and I had to fill those all all
432 of them that was a bit of a job so I
had to go buy each of these figure out
where I wanted to place stuff it starts
at this end right over here goes up to
the left left here zigzags through the
whole thing up to the back and then it
falls down crosses over here goes up
this one zigzags all the way this way
and then anything that doesn't get
sorted is going to end up in these
chests over here for now this is just
temporary until we make something a bit
more fancy we probably want some way of
turning iron nuggets into iron ingots
and iron ingots into blocks of iron
because we're not actually storing like
iron ingots for example in our storage
room we're storing them as the blocks so
if we put these in they would end up
into our unsorted stuff so there's a lot
of like pre- sorting stuff we want to do
with a crafter uh which we'll have to
get to in the future for now though
let's just give it a a little try here
shall we so this is like some stuff we
got to enter into the system this is our
old shulker boxes from our Ender Chest
that uh we're not using anymore that we
have a new system for and these would be
a big pain to manually like work out
where everything goes so we can just
like load it up here start getting stuff
going in there and yeah basically the
next big step is I got to go around my
world I guess and just like collect
stuff and get it put into our system
yeah So eventually we're going to be
ripping this out and making something a
bit nicer something a little bit more
complex probably uh but this is a way we
can just automatically drop stuff off
and have it sorted for the the time
being until we get something better oh
stuff is making it to the unsorted
oh yeah so this is the other issue right
now
so because we're not we have to get
items to stack together as well cuz the
way Hoppers work is after an item goes
in there's a bit of a delay before it'll
accept another one so we have to like
Clump stuff together and then let it go
which we're not doing right now so some
stuff is going to make it to the end
that shouldn't so it's time to hunt we
got to go around our world we got to
find stuff to put into our storage room
stuff like this especially where we just
got like random although this is mostly
unstackable I guess we take the
pedals uh take iron
sure basically it's cleanup time we're
going to get rid of a lot of this stuff
that's been driving me crazy uh yeah we
can put all that stuff in the storage no
problem yeah we'll have a special area
for unstackable things in the future as
well but for
now going to leave it here I guess
that can go that can go that can stay we
have like 10 years of stuff around our
world to go through so this isn't like a
a simple project probably I've been
pretty organized though in this world so
maybe it's not as bad as I think it's
going to be this kind of shows you how
crazy my storage had gotten though it's
like I just got random poppies here
random Netherrack okay why I don't
know yeah so we kind of outgrew our man
cave storage room we built the Nexus and
then the Nexus didn't have all items in
eventually so then it's like okay I'm
just going to start filling up random
Shockers and hope I can find them again
in the future and now stuff is just
scattered everywhere in my world and I
can't find stuff when I need it to and
it's become a big problem so now we're
going to be able to collect everything
together and I'll be able to see how
much I have of stuff and also be able to
find it which is Big so there's a few
different ways we can load stuff into
here as well like for this first initial
thing I'm going to load some stuff
manually actually quite a bit of stuff
manually I should say we could put
everything through this automatic thing
but it can only run so fast right and if
stuff is already pre-organized like this
it doesn't really make sense to use that
much faster just to uh go here I see
this is the iron right and
then we could either throw it in here
and then pulse the system or I can just
directly put it here I guess
this is iron Right double check yeah I'm
being careful cuz this my first time
doing this so it's going to funnel out
of there it goes down to the hopper
below and you can see our first light
turned on but for sure any like random
boxes we have that look like this or or
like this there's a bunch of carpets
there I could probably pull those out
but uh this thing's not backed up just
yet so I'm going to throw them on here
have them automatically go in
instead that way I don't have to deal
with them all right poppies go here I
put all the flowers and flower pots I
think that looks pretty good uh okay we
got another box of poppies that one we
can throw in
here and then they just sit in this
dispenser and when this runs out this
one will automatically get shot out and
take its place I am going to be really
careful though because I'm manually
loading stuff here I want to just double
check like it is actually that item I
think it is cuz a lot of times you'll
look at a box it's like oh that's that's
all Netherrack and then there'll be like
one stack of something that's not in
there
and that's annoying okay I'm going to
throw this in here if I'm manually
putting stuff back I also have the
option of just like directly dropping it
in the barrel yeah so a lot of this is
deciding like is that worth my time
running around trying to figure out
where it goes absolutely not that's a
bunch of random junk so I I'll put it
through the auto sorder this one's
already organized so I'm going to go run
it over so far it's working pretty good
I got to say no problems really um I did
notice oh by the way this trolled me I
like like why isn't stuff keep skipping
the spot for some reason it's a light
gray stain glass it got
me uh not as much stuff is uh going in
here than I thought like I thought we're
going to have a big issue with it
skipping Hoppers but I guess that's a a
rare occurrence actually which is good
um so we don't have to worry about
making our clumper just yet but I
haven't really shown you how it looks
when stuff is going in here so yeah this
is what it's doing it's is zigzagging
through our system here these are all
our items it's looking for the correct
Hopper to go
into and then some of it ends up on the
other side you see it's thinning out the
further it goes and then eventually it
all gets sorted pretty much unless it's
something we don't have a spot for then
it ends up here all right we're back to
the hunt here we have a few decisions to
make about things like some stuff is
almost nostalgic like we have the Nexus
fund over
here there's just uh there's a bunch of
poppies left that's it um you know we
got some stuff left in here should I
leave this
just out of memory like this doesn't
work at all anymore I don't
know this doesn't mean anything to me so
I'm going to take that clean that up
fill up some Shockers we do have a seed
spot in our storage so may as well put
those there even though we'll never use
them by the way we have a mushroom
issue I don't know how this happened cuz
they're not supposed to grow out of
control like this
but yeah what's the deal you guys
remember this little Hut thing we built
never clean up this stuff oh actually I
did some of it
anyway we used to have a bunch of birch
here I guess I used it in a
project okay we'll load that into our
system as well there's actually a
villager in here I don't remember doing
that that's kind of cool again this is
one of those cases where these chests
have been here forever they just got a
bunch of random stuff
in doing care about the Nostalgia of
this I I think we can move these right
most of you probably even know these
were
here yeah I think I'm going to clean
them up we used to do all our Redstone
over
here so spent a lot of time these chests
am I nostalgic about any of these I
don't think
so um they're kind of just random
meaningless stuff right there is one we
got to leave for sure though that one
over there is very very special if you
don't know this I believe is our first
chest in the world first furnace first
crafting table and our first pickaxe I'm
pretty sure so yeah we're going to leave
that where it is what does that sign say
I don't even remember
don't all right all right he got me
um Enchanted gold picks
interesting I got to say though it is
kind of fun just going around looking at
all these old chests like each one of
these tells a story I just don't know
what that story is like I don't know how
it got to the state like why is it
floating why do we have this weird
assortment of things like there's speed
potions there's nether stuff in
here you know if I could actually
explain the story to you then it would
have some nostalgic effect I guess but
because I don't even know how that
happened it's just like yeah I'm just
going to clean it up oh empty
yeah we should move
this one of the things I find very
interesting about YouTube is you never
truly know the value someone's going to
find in your videos like everybody
perceives things differently from each
other and for one person you know it
might be oh this Redstone thing I did in
the episode that was the highlight for
them another person it might be oh it
was when Etho got killed by that creeper
or that little build he did or that
little joke told you know everyone's a
little bit different and with experience
you can kind of sort of predict what the
big moments are going to be and and sort
of plan and try give them deliver them
to people but you never really truly
know and sometimes like I'll put a lot
of effort into something thinking it's
going to be good and it's a big
flop and other times you know I'll have
a dumb little idea I hardly put any
effort in and that's like what
really like grabs your guys' attention
um a couple couple good examples of my
world I would say was like the one tall
base we did you guys just L that thing
for some reason always wanted me to go
back to it and add on to it another good
one like from way back was this
realistic mining thing we did we built
this cave where we pushed a storage
Minecart as we went caving and whatever
iron we found we used to build rails so
we could Advance further we had to like
block off passages with fences if they
were dangerous uh and just try to make
it look like a real cave kind of thing
or a real
mine
and yeah you guys just loved it it was
like just a wacky idea I threw out there
you know and didn't really expect much
out of it and that's that's one of those
things that really caught on I have no
idea where I put my my chests in here
though so I I've been using this as a
little storage room because I didn't
want the chest lagging around the man
cave so I threw a bunch of arrows back
here I'm trying to
find is it up here oh it is up here okay
okay yeah I didn't want all these over
or did I empty this already no they're
still here okay let's let's clean these
up as well throw these into shulker
boxes now I might not have brought
enough shulker boxes there is a ton of
them here actually so this is like all
from the mob system I played the game
very differently before I had shulker
boxes like I think this was like around
the time shulker boxes were in the game
but I didn't have a lot of them so to
save on Shuler boxes I would just stuff
stuff into chests
[Applause]
that's a bit of
stuff all right for the most part it's
still working good I did find one item
filter I forgot to put something in but
that's the only issue I found so far oh
I just had an idea here there's actually
a trick I think we can do so I just went
and grabbed a bunch of gunpowder boxes
right I didn't really check like what's
in them all I can see is the first five
slots are gunpowder but there might be
other stuff mixed in and I I'll have to
like put them down and just double check
and you know it's kind of annoying right
but I think if any item isn't matching
like let's say there's some random
stacks of stuff mixed in all right I
picked this up that's in my first spot I
hover over it all I can see okay it
looks like it's a full box of gunpowder
I would never know right that there's
one stack wrong in
there
but you know assuming they're full here
if we double click any matching items
will go in
automatically right so it does the
comparator check for us and uh I don't
need to like put them down and find out
so the one that didn't go in is this one
because it's it's not matching but if it
was they would all go in right that's
kind of cool so now all seven should go
in minus one you're holding obviously we
should probably do a little test here
actually so this is filling up of
gunpowder from here when this runs out
it should automatically put another one
there
please
uhoh
uhoh what what did I do wrong I don't
know I built this so long ago I have no
idea how it works anymore oh wait a
second that's not how it works so
there's a comparator on the barrel that
means when this runs out of stuff then
it does
it yeah now it put the new one in and
it's filling up with gunpowder okay good
I got worried for a second it's like did
I really build this all wrong the empty
one ends up in here and we got to get
another mine cart running to pick that
up worst squid Farm
ever oh snap all right so the old
stronghold base is definitely an
interesting one here because the
original plan was we were going to move
out of the man cave and make our base
over here so we kind of use this as a
storage room for a
while um we have to be careful I think
there is some special stuff
here oh I wonder if they fixed it I had
some firework rockets that I crafted
without gunpowder it's like impossible
to do now but when you would use them it
would crash the
game uh I wonder if MOS fix that cuz
that I'm guessing those were the Rockets
there uh
yeah there is some good stuff here so I
definitely do want to loot this did you
guys know there's actually a storage
room in here too we're going to leave
all the Cobblestone here but we're going
to take the gravel and the
dirt yeah sneaky chest let's go check it
out ooh glass yeah it's looking like we
never put anything in here or if we did
I took it out so back when uh
strongholds came out in this game we
moved to this base you could not craft
Mossy stone bricks or the crack stone
bricks there was a limited amount and a
limited amount of strongholds originally
only three would spawn in the world so
whatever I mined out of the stronghold
here I stuffed into a
chest over here I found them and I was
always too scared to use these blocks
because oh I only have so many of them
right once I use them they're gone and I
I'll never be able to use them again
kind of thing so I just stored them and
I never used them and that's a a big
issue in game design like if you have a
limit supply of something a lot of times
players don't want to use that thing
they'll just hold on to it and uh I'm
glad moan changed it now where like
almost everything in the game you can
just farm and get uh because otherwise
you know you some players like me I'm a
I'm a hoarder I'm a holder other players
it's like ah let's use it you know it's
exciting it's a rare block let's let's
let's put it to use I I'm definitely the
type to hold
something uh yeah that's some good stuff
okay let's take that too yeah even in
the nether we have lots of stuff stashed
around here just in random
places uh potions can stay let's take
this this and this okay we want to check
up here as well we got villagers above
I'm pretty sure I left a bunch of
goodies there bunch of random
stuff uh uh I think I can just take all
of it yeah this is sort of like a
respawn spot so maybe I leave the gear
and I take the rest I'll leave some
food yeah any I'm trying to like collect
all the valuable stuff that we have
laying around one of these days I just
want to practice killing mobs like
Enderman and like these guys there's a
couple mobs that always hit
me okay I did I did get on that one
little guy runs
away got him okay couple more
goodies yep take that take
this oh man look at all them shroom
lights oh snap okay there's a lot in
here we got to take I'm actually just
going to bust this one let's try this I
think you can convert name tags back to
like defaults you just do that right six
components yeah I think that's just a
regular name tag now so the new storage
room we built is also going to have a
big impact on the way I play in this
world we're going to be a bit more
efficient from now on so this is a great
example here the the Bastion area where
we do our gold trading got our guys up
there and then everything gets put into
the system here this is kind of like a
mini warehouse for me and typically what
happens is I come here for a certain
item like I might need Blackstone or I
might need quartz so I'll grab that and
there's like nothing left here right uh
but then I just take that one item I
leave and then in the future I might
need obsidian or something and I left it
behind here because I didn't really have
anywhere to put it back home
so I just tend to use this as storage as
well and then when I need something in
the future I have to come all the way
back out here and it's a bit inefficient
right so now that we have a spot and
space for everything in our new endless
storage room I no longer need to use our
Farms as like little mini storage rooms
and uh like the problem with that is I
don't know how much of anything I have
when I do that I have to go visit the
area to actually check as well um so
it's it's is going to be a lot nicer
going forward
let's just do a quick little check here
I'll tell you what we're going to take
and what we're going to leave so I think
we'll we'll take this chest we'll take
this one and I think we're going to
leave the bows here I do want to leave
some chests just to remind us that this
used to be a storage room this is the
bows we made before they made the change
where you can put infinity and mending
together so we got quite a few of those
which is cool um I think maybe we'll
leave all the Cobblestone cuz I got
plenty of that although
no I should I should clean this up cuz
this is lighting my man cave area having
these chests
here so yeah I'll pack up all the stone
all the dirts and I think we will take
everything actually except for the bows
and I'm going to
leave I think we have some slabs here
don't
we yeah these I'm going to leave these
here as well this is my petrified Oak
slab
collection can't get those anymore and
again I'm hoarder so I never use them
for anything I just I just store them
here well I tell you what there's still
a lot of places we could go check out
like there's behind the waterfall
there's the Amplified base Slab City the
water base you know there's plenty of
places but I'll probably do a bunch off
camera let's get on to the two main
things we got to figure out uh first off
the man cave storage room so I've been
trying to decide as we've been doing
this like what should we
do because if I out all these
chests I just get this feeling like this
is going to feel abandoned to me and I
don't necessarily want that to happen uh
I think what we'll do is we'll take a
lot of the extra stuff out of here like
we don't need all these shulkers full of
stone and things we're going to take
that away and anything we got a lot of
stacks of I'll probably clean up but I'm
still going to leave a few stacks of
everything here I think all right very
good so we got the man cave cleaned out
in just two trips it went pretty quickly
but now we move on to the real final
boss the Nexus this is our actual main
storage room at the moment and we're
we're moving from this to our new
endless storage room so this is where
the majority of our stuff actually is
and we have some decisions to make here
so okay so any shocker boxes left behind
here we're going to take out we're just
going to put that into our automatic uh
sorder because these don't have the same
order I'm keeping stuff in my Ender
Chest anymore this is the old system so
this is going to confuse me if I keep
these around I got to get rid of them um
so that's going to get cleaned up we did
kind of put some stuff in the sides here
I
think yeah I'll take this with
me and any more of those oh
yeah take that with
us okay and then we have all this chests
above as well so
so and plus I've just been dropping
stuff off here cuz I had nowh to put it
so again another reason we needed more
more space I'm just like leaving shocker
boxes everywhere in my world here so all
this stuff we're going to move to the
new storage room get that auto sorted
and then the big one though is the chest
so all these have stuff in quite a bit
of stuff and it no longer follows the
same system we have the new system so I
got to empty all
these and bring them over to the endless
storage I think and then in the future
we might actually we should refill these
with the new system again I don't want
this to feel abandoned so I think we
should load these up with at least some
items boy there's a lot of stuff we're
going to have to
move uh and then there's more on the
other side here too yeah so I think
we're just going to empty most of stuff
and then bring some back with the new
system is kind of what I'm thinking but
then we also have another ision to make
what about all the stuff actually stored
in the Nexus
here I think some of the higher value
stuff I'm going to take a few Stacks
with us I'll leave a little bit though I
kind of want to leave this as like a
tech demo in the future you know if I'm
ever doing a world tour and I want to
show off like how this used to work be
kind of cool if there still was stuff in
here but any like high value items I'm
going to take with us I think so yeah
this is a perfect example lily pads I
consider a high value item so I want to
take a bunch of those with
us
um yeah dark prismarine yeah that's a
high value item for me I hate crafting
this stuff uh so I'll take a bunch of
that too how much is here oh there's
actually a pretty good amount
nice before we finish up things this
episode I do want to test out at least
one of these lines as well so we're
going to test out the glass line um all
the ones with the light on are the ones
I manually filled up
but we've also been automatically
filling up this line there's just this
weird thing
where the stuff we automatically feed
into it doesn't trickle down it it has
to fill up a full shulker before it'll
automatically do that like this system
is built for bulk and that might have
been like maybe a little design flaw I
it should have worked out as well but I
did kind of plan for it somewhat
so basically
I loaded in a Shuler in each of these
just to test this so all the way down
here each one of these is a different
like type of glass and that sort of
thing like there's our gray glass uh but
it's like stuck up here it needs a
shulker box to load
into so let's pulse
this just to make sure it places the
shulkers
first yeah that sounded
good so I where where did those go oh
they're kind of like hidden up there I
guess we can't really see them too
well okay you see all those purple
shulkers down the line it looks like
they all got placed let's just run
through here and just double
check yeah so those are automatically
being filled right now with whatever we
put through the sorder yeah it's going
to be a little bit janky getting this
system going to begin with here mainly
because I don't have enough shulker
shells like I need uh probably 20 to 30
times this amount that's this is all I
got so I might need to build a better
shulker Farm or I'll spend an insane
amount of time at it the one we have
currently to like fill up the whole
system uh is one of our issues the other
issue is like we need to get items down
here so we can start using it but it
won't send the items down
automatically until the box is full like
we need a full box of glass before it
gets sent down but you know if we have
lots of glass here already that's not a
big issue it's just some of these we
don't have a bunch of stuff we only have
a few Stacks or nothing at all so I made
it so that we can manually choose to
send stuff down as well which is what
we're going to have to do to begin with
um so now that we've given those boxes
time to fill up I'm going to hit the
button again if we had a shocker in
these dispensers it would break the one
there and place the new empty one to
fill up but since those are all empty
it'll just break it I
think okay
so hopefully all those boxes got sent
down here and they're just going to be
partially filled yeah so there they're
not full but we should have a little bit
of everything in here now yeah just a
few stacks of things which is great and
then we have another line we got a pulse
and we we'll make this more automatic in
the future I'm just not sure exactly how
I want to do it okay yeah so I think the
way this works you see some of these are
up already the ones that have items in
like the glass we have items there
already so this is extended I I think
only the ones that have nothing will get
triggered once we hit the button so it's
going to send a pulse all the way down
to each of the things here to the
unloaders let's see what
happens there it
goes oh that's
cool all right so now all these lights
should turn on yeah they're all on
perfect perfect that's what I wanted to
see so we got a little bit of everything
down here
now very cool very cool and we can get
our Minecart Running Oh do we not have
tinted glass we don't have tinted glass
none at all oh that's a problem I think
if we ever run out of something in the
system or if we just never have it to
begin with even uh we can override it
just by putting a lever on this and then
that'll trigger the an gate so that
it'll it'll keep running cuz again if
any one of these is off it won't ever
send the mine cart up this elevator to
the drop off but actually on the initial
start up here because the mine cart has
no items in we don't really want it
going to the drop off to begin with
anyway so I'm just going to leave that
off for now
anyways um to actually get the minecart
loaded up should be fairly simple
because we don't have tinted glass
though I'm going to have to manually put
one in
here I
think and then we send it on its way so
it should grab one of each of the
items and sort of build its own filter
let's shut this off so we can check it
when it comes
back and then I'm going to let it fill
up the full and then we flip that lever
and then it should just work then and we
also got to set the filters in The
Hoppers
here um okay yeah I think it grabbed one
of everything there but anyways we moved
a lot of items today everybody got a
bunch of stuff organized did a lot of
building but it's time to wrap up for
this episode and the comment of the day
says I love the Shuler storage idea with
the Ender Chest I am confused with one
aspect of the theory behind it there are
27 slots in the chest mine cart and 27
slices to fill each slot there are 27
slots in the shulker box with a hopper
going into five sides of the box there
are five slots in a hopper so that's 5 *
5 which equals 25 or in other words it's
two items short as I understand it you
put an item in each Hopper slot which
allows for 25 items to fill into the
Shocker how do you manage to get item
number 26 and number 2 7 into the
shulker
box all right this is where things get a
little bit complex with the system short
answer I don't
really um so there's options with this
one option you could switch from Hoppers
to droppers droppers have nine slots so
You' only need three droppers per
shocker box downside with using droppers
is you would need to control them with
redstone while Hoppers are just
automatic at filling things and drop ERS
also can fail like if they choose an
item that is already full it'll just
fail it won't like try to pick the next
item so it can take a very long time to
fill um so that's why I ended up going
with Hoppers now Hoppers have the
downside of only having 25 slots which
is too short so what I do is I pick two
items in each of these shocker boxes
that I I'm going to deem the rare items
or the ones I don't want to use as often
so in this box the two I picked is
actually smooth red sandstone and cut
red Sandstone um so they're not going to
get automatically refilled also I put uh
tinted glass as a temporary thing until
we get it in there this is slowly
filling up I had an issue where it uh
got up here before it was ready if
you're wondering why they're out of
order here uh but yeah
so the way I would do it normally with
our Ender Chest system is I would just
manually put items 26 and 27 into the sh
box and since I'm using them rarely it's
very rare actually you have to manually
refill those two items with this system
the way we're doing it is we have these
extra
Hoppers
aha they are not pointing towards the
Shocker box so they're just collecting
the items so this is going to fill up
with smooth red sandstone and cut red
sandstone and then I'll just have to
manually transfer those over to the Sher
box in the middle there whenever they
need a refill but they'll get
automatically collected here and we also
have the option of adding a few other
stacks of things that we want a bigger
buffer for so any items we use more
often we would probably put into these
spots and they'll get automatically
filled up and we can have like for
example 10 stacks of glass here so that
I'm not always running it dry and then
having to wait forever for it to refill
also I'm just going to take a moment to
say sorry you know for all you dieh hard
let's play fans out there I I realize
it's been a long time between episodes
and usually when that happens it's
because I'm busy in real life or I'm not
in the mood to play Minecraft but this
time you know I've been playing
Minecraft I've been playing hermitcraft
I'm trying something a little different
which uh might be a mistake might not be
I don't know so far it's worked well for
hermitcraft but uh let's see if
anybody's watching the let's play after
this uh yeah I decided to try to take a
break from the let's play and just focus
entirely on hermitcraft and the reason
for that is because I did an analysis of
why my hermitcraft Seasons usually flop
and I didn't want to repeat that you
know for this uh season 10 and one of
the big reasons is because I'm usually
juggling three or four different series
when hermitcraft starts and I always
play in rotation where I bounce between
the series and don't really focus on any
of them um and I realized like that used
to work on YouTube when I was doing like
an episode every day and putting low
effort into them uh but now that I'm
like putting higher effort into episodes
and they're coming out
infrequently that rotation just does not
work anymore so I have to do something a
little different I decided just take a
break from the let's play and uh focus
on hermitcraft get a good start on it
that way I'll want to keep playing the
rest of the season and now that it's
been going for a few months I feel
comfortable coming back to the let's
play and uh alternating again hopefully
is what I'm planning but yeah hopefully
you enjoyed the episode thank you all
for watching until the next one take
care have a wonderful day
bye-bye
