outdoor shower that we took on the

but this hose is just a little short
also the back of it magnetic and I was
thinking add unclog the gray tank to the
list this is going to be gross get ready
this has been sitting in there for a
year and a half I thought it was empty
but it was just clogged oh no oh
no oh I'm glad you can't smell through
the camera I'll just go ahead and
apologize for what I'm about to show you
that is why the gray tank was clogged so
almost 2 years ago now which sounds
completely crazy to say we took this van
on a trip to Baja honestly the best trip
we've ever taken in the van but before
that trip I decided it would be a good
idea to install a roof rack on top of
the van and in doing so I covered up the
solar panels that are attached to the
roof what I didn't realize at the time
is if you only cover up even a small
portion of a solar panel it decreases
the efficiency of the rest of the panel
and it pretty much made the solar setup
that I have on the roof now completely
useless and this is my attempt at fixing
that So the plan is to install these new
solar panels on top of the rack and just
leave the old ones as they are that way
I can avoid taking out the ceiling
inside of the van and also the roof
doesn't leak as it is and if I pull this
up I'm going to have 8 * 3 24 holes in
the top of the van that I have to patch
so I'm just going to install these in
the front on top of the rack and
theoretically I have an adapter and I
should just be able to unplug the old
system and plug the new system in let's
hope it's that easy otherwise we're
probably not leaving here

going to hold the solar panels on but it

14,000ft Mountain so last night we
camped in the woods and this morning we
woke up before the sun start climbing

I have quite a bit of work I need to do
MAV needed somebody to keep him company
and if we're being completely honest I
just didn't feel like it let's just say

still eight hours away from

and I do all I've done all day is just
watched all the videos I took on my
phone I'm just trying to relive the
night as much as possible so last night
we almost missed the
concert because we could not find
anywhere to park this van it was so
stressful pretty much every Hotel has
parking garages that this van will not
fit in we drove around in circles for 2
hours we have literally been trying to
find a place to park the van for over an
hour this is craziness so we ended up
just in this random lot where the
security guard told us your van is
considered oversized and you're going to
get a hefty fee and so we left drove
around still couldn't find parking and
we were like bet a bunch of money for
the Adele concert tickets even if they
charge us a fee that's what we have to
do so we came back and we parked here
even though he told us we were going to
get fined we're about to go through the
little gate thing and figure figure out
how much we have to pay I think this
should cost around like $35 if we didn't
get a fun $23 are you serious we got
away with it quick before anybody sees
us yeah let's do
it wow I am shocked I don't know if we
got lucky or if we discovered a Vegas
hack but it only cost $23 to park
overnight behind the Weston amazing best
day ever it was so worth

it's a parking lot and it was much
easier to
find than last
night we have 4 days until we have to be
in Oceanside California to start this
epic adventure and Sarah and have never
been to Vegas before so we've decided to
spend one more night here but tonight we
are actually camping on the Strip there
is a old rundown looking hotel called
Circus Circus that advertises an RV park
on the strip it's more like a giant
parking lot that has some electrical
hookups but there are bathrooms and this
has to be the cheapest place that you
could possibly stay on the STP but it's
hot it's
toasty Blues Clues Blues Clues we're
totally I don't even know it's how the
song

goes I think it is this is the biggest H
yet but you may have noticed that we
don't have a bike with us in the van
that is correct so do with that what you
will Dy and SS should be here soon and
it should be a fun night and even though
this is just a hot empty parking lot
with some hookups it is pretty cool that
you can camp on the Las Vegas trip like
we're within walking distance of all the
major casinos and pretty much anything
that you would want to see while you're
here

good afternoon I have terrible news last
night we drove from Las Vegas here to
California and we missed the state line
after all that the last one but now we
found ourselves parked in the desert
Amit these incredible Joshua trees and
this feels like the perfect place to
install these solar panels that have
been riding around in the van with us
for the last week I honestly just didn't
realize how much fun we were going to
have on this trip I thought we were just
going to drive a little work a little
drive a little work a little but instead
we've climbed a 14er had a night out in
Vegas went to the Adele concert but Cara
has requested that these solar panels no
longer live in our bed please get the
box it feels like the desert so it's
time to get to
work
I already forgot that when we were
working on this at my parents house we
had ladders set up it's going to make
things more

difficult hooray I got the hardest piece
off okay so let me show you what I'm
trying to do up there this is one of the
bars that goes across the top of the
roof rack it has these little grooves in
it and I've got these little black
pieces this is what got shipped to us in
Colorado and these black pieces slide
into the slot that allows us to attach
these brackets and then we can attach
the solar panels to
those okay so I've got all the little
pieces attached to the bottom of the
solar panel I've got the thingies very
technical build all uh slid down in the
railings theoretically I just have to
get the railings in the right spot and
then attach the solar

panel you're not going to believe this
but
sometimes I do things without thinking
them through I must have installed
everything in the wrong order three
times I had to undo redo undo redo but 3
and 1 half hours later the first solar
panel is on the roof I think the next
two are going to go by a lot faster and
there is still a chance that I finish
this before

believe it or not I did get the solar
panels installed last
night and I've been counting on this
working the whole time but literally all
I had to do was unplug the old ones plug
the new ones in and the solar on top of
the van is cranking and these boxes are
going straight to the dumpster thank you
again to optivolt for sending us those
solar panels I actually love their
tagline which is shade happens you guys
get it they they also work in the shade
I saw them above the rack so that they
won't get the shade from the rack but
even if we're like sitting under a tree
and they're partially shaded we should
still be getting really good solar which
will be a game changer for this trip
they also sent us five bags of amazing
coffee beans so they did not pay us to
say any of this but they are on our good
side okay now from here we just have a
short well what I'm considering short at
this point in the trip 4-Hour drive to
Oceanside and once we get there we'll
give you big

reville somehow we managed to make it at
900 p.m. the night before the biggest
adventure of our life starts we are
officially at the start line in
Oceanside California we have so much to
do what a beautiful site this this
is
finally all right this is the biggest h
of the
video we came here to sell a bike on
Craigslist so we have 1 2 three vans and
a three-seater bike the entire Journey
to the West Coast I've been dreaming of
announcing this secret Adventure on the
beach in the sunshine with all our
friends but here we are and a laundry
room at 10: p.m. but that doesn't matter
it does not dampen the excitement and
that's exactly how this crew Rolls
tomorrow with Dusty and Sarah and Rick
and Beck and eie and Frankie and all
three fanss six adults two kids we are
all biking Across America for the next
30 days we are biking 100 miles per day
from Oceanside California to Washington
DC but not just on any bike not
everybody on the their own separate bike
one bike a three seater trandom bike So
the plan is three adults pedaling the
bike and then the other three adults mov
in the van and we all just mov together
across the us just like
this that's as much of a plan as we have
as of now we don't know when we're
leaving we don't know where we're sleep
the only thing we know for sure is that
we are dipping that bike's wheel in the
Pacific Ocean tomorrow and 30 days from
now we're dipping the wheel in the
Atlantic Ocean and it's going to be an
un forgettable Adventure the longest
most ambitious Adventure we have ever
attempted we are so excited to share
these videos with you but before we do
there is one special video coming up
when we got back in the van before we
left Tennessee I filmed a video that I
have promised on this channel since
January of 2022 and that is a van trip
with my 88-year old grandfather in his
restored VW van we'll take your van and
ours on a Canon camping cre it's going
to be a little different it's very
personal but I hope that you'll enjoy it
because pop is one of the most special
humans in the world and then after that
video is published by trip begins woohoo
