i have the ultimate birthday surprise

in the works for matt today is actually

matt's birthday we just got back to

hawaii

last night and now i am scrounging

together

a birthday party for matt i'm not good

at putting together events

but i'm gonna do it i'm gonna do it

because i really love

matt i don't know i'm like getting

emotional i really love him

and i want to just make him feel so

celebrated and so loved

i texted a bunch of our friends i said

hey

tomorrow we should have just a fun beach

day and then

we're gonna have a surprise birthday

party for matt

my whole idea for the birthday party is

to do an ice cream sundae bar i thought

that'd be really cute and really fun

and i have like the most massive grocery

list right here

that we're working with i mean it's a

fat grocery list because we have no

groceries i'm gonna have to go to like

three grocery stores

let's just get on the road and let's get

i thought a fun gift would be to get him

our friends games

for like so long now we're like okay we

should get our own hopefully they have

i didn't think about that crossing our

it's fun but until it's not and then

you're like okay well i can't cross off

everything in my list so how many more

places am i going to have to go to

but i am really happy because they had

catan i got a good birthday card

i got some fun birthday decorations so

all of that turned out great so now i'm

gonna go get some food for myself

because i

am stinking hungry and i cannot be a

party planner

on an empty stomach and with no caffeine

i've had no coffee today and i'm gonna

turn off the camera because this person

is looking at me i'm going to nally

which is like my

favorite little lunch place and i think

they have coffee too which i really

need some coffee right now okay

everybody i got myself a little coffee

let's taste it

that's good and i got myself a sandwich

now that is excellent the bad thing

about trapping on an empty stomach is

that the food looks so good

you can't eat it then also i wasn't

thinking clearly so then i realized i

forgot a bunch of stuff

and it's already 2 43. i'm gonna eat

this sandwich i'm gonna get revived i

mean i'll see you guys at costco

i got through all the traffic and

finally got to costco

i'm currently hyping myself up to go in

there because

um costco is not necessarily my

happy place it's kind of stressful for

me in there it's just so big

there's a lot going on i have a sense of

urgency that comes out of nowhere when

i'm there i just need to get out

and i'm gonna do it though i'm gonna do

it i'll see you afterwards because i

don't think i have the capability to

bring this camera in here

and maintain a stay in mind so i'll see

you when i get home

and have to unload all these

i groceries it home you guys oh by the

way matt's not home because he went

surfing with a buddy

which worked out perfectly because i

didn't want him to be home and i was

unloading all of the birthday surprises

commence unloading groceries now

now that all the groceries are unpacked

i'm going to start making matt's

absolute favorite dinner um he loves

barbecue chicken

and he loves the panera fuji apple

salad i looked up a copycat recipe for

that so i'm going to be making that for

him

and oh his favorite cheesecake factory

rolls you guys i found these at the

grocery store you guys know what i'm

talking about

these brown ones with seeds they're the

famous brown bread

um he loves those and um i think it's

the perfect meal

we have some friends coming over i think

they're bringing a dessert i'm not gonna

wrap his birthday gift i'm kind of the

worst but i don't have wrapping paper

and i did not think to get that in time

so i think i'm just gonna have him close

his eyes

and be surprised that way it's better

for the environment that way too

blowing up his balloons so let's get

that ready first

got started on getting all the toppings

ready got some crushed oreo

magic shell which is actually like

matt's favorite marshmallow topping

another one of matt's favorites

sprinkles sour gummy worms these are my

favorite i honestly just want to eat

these without the ice cream

we are set and going got strawberries

over here it's actually starting to come

together like i said this isn't really

the most like aesthetically pleasing

party i mean these are just my

tupperware containers but you know what

it does the trick

it really does the trick we have t minus

23 minutes

and counting until party is starting we

have the balloons

in the trees blankets for people to sit

on happy

make it to 24 hours

more positive outlook on life would you

like to change it

have a bucket list of things you want to

complete before you have them because it

makes it

more difficult to complete the things

you wanted i have to tell myself this

every year

the more i say yes to my wife the more

of my years just way better

i'm 22. moving right along i didn't want

to turn 23 because

22 was so funny

okay i know this is abby's video so i

feel really bad picking up the camera

but i just wanted to say that you did

such a good job

you truly crushed it everyone just had a

peace out because

it's kind of getting late i'm not a

party i'm not an event person

oh yeah it's really not in my skill set

but

whipped it together

like terrified of crashes

i got up to 30 miles per hour on this

thing and i'm like dude if i fall off

like

that is not gonna feel good like i will

shred my knees you're already a dad

so maybe it's fun for every once in a

while

once in a while but you know i think it

would have felt better if i had some

knee pads on maybe some elbow pads

wrist guards would have been great but i

got to tell you man riding your moped i

don't know how you do it

i mean that's kind of scary dude that's

like a big risk to your health you could

fall off

like parties take a lot of planning

planning and so much work

literally 24 hours too did you

so that's great i just realized i never

showered today after

my workout at crossfit which is

absolutely disgusting i was supposed to

go surfing when abby told me to leave

the house

for her to get ready for the party and i

just realized i didn't have much time to

serve so

i ended up just like watching youtube

videos and not surfing and

now i've just been covered in sweat all

day that's disgusting you really

let this be a reminder that you can

really make someone feel special

and treasured and you can do an awesome

surprise

without spending a lot of money that's

right

this birthday was on a budget it's the

thought that counts

that's what matters and it's the

planning it's the love

require money you know i feel like money
