Transcripts
I'm excited and intrigued about this one
on the channel so far you've seen me
test loads of golf equipment from Costco
Kirkland Signature to be precise golf
balls Putters wedges they've now brought
out a driver if I'm not mistaken I think
they've got some irons either coming out
or already out which we'll definitely
review very soon we're in the hit Studio
here today be sure you subscribe to the
hit Channel if you love equipment
reviews we are posting on the channel
twice every single week now the first
time I heard Costco was bringing out a
driver I was intrigued I really was now
it's taken a while for those drivers to
come over to hear the UK but as soon as
they hit stores I went out and bought it
for
£190 this driver in this box from
effectively a wholesaler a chain of
stores that are all dotted around the
country you can pick up a driver like
this as you can now the putters the
wedges the golf balls uh I'm intrigued I
mean it comes in a very
quite small box I feel like for a driver
on here there's bit of Spiel you've got
a picture of the golf club which on
first impressions of the picture looks
pretty good and they've got high
performance adjustable driver this is
right-handed thankfully for me it does
come in left-handed as well um features
titanium alloy face insert for high ball
speed across the face adjustable Loft
range from 9 and 1/2 de all the way up
to 112° with even a draw setting that's
crazy Even Flow Rip Tide graphite shaft
lamping crossline 360 grip anything
about all this Spiel they don't have to
do that on a driver that only costs
£190 Kirkland Signature obviously want
to make good equipment and so far I've
been impressed with everything I've
reviewed from Kirkland Signature but now
it's the driver you can you can fudge to
some degree of putter you can get away
with a Kirkland Signature wedge the golf
are impressive to be fair but the driver
you cannot you cannot make an
underperforming driver so here in the
hit studio today I'm going to get on GC
quad hit some Prov v1s with it and see
how it performs first off the unboxing
experience I mean all this is it's all
saying the right things high performance
driver you've then got it in what I can
only presume is French you've then got
it in what I can only presume is another
language
which I don't know of um in here you've
got Kirkland Signature and you've got
the driver securely fastened via these
foam
bricks I missed you by these foam bricks
it's even got cellophan wrapper on it we
see here already the first glimpse of
the shaft it's an even flow Rip Tide
again driver shaft that's been used in
topend drivers a Lampkin 360 grip like
good good quality products like this
again it could be a brand a shaft you've
never heard of it could be a a Kirkland
Signature own made grit but it's not
it's good
quality and even the head cover that's a
good looking head cover I mean I love
the colors myself I'm a big fan of the
red white and black anyway but that's a
good quality head cover first
Glimpse oh
it's nice looking how have they done
this how have they made is it just the
mass Market is the fact they're making
so many of them this is a 10 and 1/2
degree head I'm going to crank it down a
little bit to 9 and a half which I can
do in a minute that is a good looking
driver if you stripped Kirkland
Signature off that for a minute and put
tailor made on it put tight list on it
put ping on it and charge this at £500 I
actually think people would buy it a
little bit of grip ASMR here for
you does it do it in one does it do it
in
one this isn't my first
rodeo
a so far listen it is ticking every
single box good looking driver great
presentation in the Box to be fair it's
saying all the right things it's got all
the right components to it
but can it perform on the GC quad on the
launch monitor will it give me the
distance I expect to see from a high
quality driver will it sound good will
it feel good all things we need to test
right now the first thing I'm going to
do is change the Loft cuz not 10 and a
half degrees for me is a little bit too
much loft so I'm going to again I mean
it doesn't come with a wrench something
to note doesn't come with a wrench
sure you know what I'm wrong and I'm and
I'm happy to admit when I'm wrong there
is actually a wrench in the Box I didn't
think there was even that a Kirkland
Signature
wrench these guys don't miss they do not
miss right I've got to admit behind the
golf ball it looks like a premium driver
like it in fact it really kind of
reminds me of a Callaway driver there
was rumors that it's Callaway that's
making all of these products for him
from the wedges to the putter to the
driver so you never but it for me for my
eye it does look very much like a caway
it's got this kind of composite carbon
Crown I it's it's a wonderful wonderful
finish there's not a blemish on it you
don't for a driver that's
£190 you'd expect at this point there to
be something wrong I don't know why
might be the wrong mindset but when you
look at now driers at
44500 this is half the price and so far
it's offered so much just on looks an
actual kind of Premium finish underneath
aga's almost like a tight list right
let's hit some shots now a driver for me
would normally carry about over 280
yards um looking at 160 ball speed about
112 mph Club head speed let's see how
the Kirkland Signature Costco driver
performs so far it's impressed me in
every category but if it's not
performing if it's not getting the
distance if it doesn't sound good feel
good or it's forgiving all of that goes
out of the window it's got to perform on
the
numbers let's see how it
does you are kidding
me
wow that was pretty impressive listen
that's the first shot straight out of
the box quite literally
let's h a few more let's h a few more
I'm not I'm not judging it on just one
shot we need to get a batch of these
shots but that was pretty good for the
first one straight out the
box very nice very nice
indeed I am impressed
I am
impressed three shots down and three
good solid hits not record record
breaking I'll come on to that in a
minute but three very very solid golf
shots four very very solid goal
shots wow that's a big one
that is a big one it feels really really
good why can't all driver manufacturers
make a driver of this price okay I'm
just going to hit a handful more shots
and we've got to dive through the data
and on the hit Channel I'm also going to
do a head-to-head with this driver
against
um not sure yet we'll we'll
see that's an interesting one that was a
bad strike really
Healy okay it's a bit of a drop off in
performance but that was a really bad
strike still found the Fairway
[Music]
though first off I'm impressed with this
golf club I am we're going to dive
through the data in a minute which I
think we'll maybe see its weakness
however looks feel sound unboxing
experience price ranks really highly for
me I thought honestly I felt like the
feel and the sound of this driver is as
good as as any driver I've tested this
year very very solid coming to the
numbers I hit some really really nice
drives I did my normal car distance cly
at the moment it's about 280 yard if not
a tiny bit
more this driver didn't quite reach up
to that not bad however and again
depends how you want to judge this for
me that was carrying 272 yards I would
say right now about 10 yard shorter than
average I normally drive it bear it in
mind you can't get fit for this driver
bear in mind this is just a stiff shaft
you can't get I can't get extra stiff in
this driver bearing in mind that this is
a driver you can buy off the shelf in
Costco stores I think that's pretty
solid and actually I'm going to compare
this on the hit channel so be sure to
subscribe to the hit Channel as I
mentioned before it's back up and
running two videos every single week if
you are an equipment junking you want to
see more equipment reviews do check out
the hit Channel I'm going to test this
head-to-head against the tailor made qi1
the standard version then we'll see what
the numbers look like cuz for me I just
wasn't getting the ball speed 155 mph
ball speed is just a little bit low what
I normally see spin rates averaging
2,500 couple of things I thought the
Forgiveness level was solid like you saw
that one that I hit really from the heel
that went 252 carry I actually took that
out of these numbers cuz I think that
was think that was fair to include that
shot but it showed it would have still
found the Fairway and it was a decent
hit I'm impressed for me if you are new
to golf and you want to pick up a driver
that looks this good sounds good feels
good for and I mean let more than half
the price of the more premium Drive is
out now this is a great shout as soon as
I get a hold of the irons I'll be
reviewing them as well and then I think
it's definitely a case of putting all
the Costco equipment in a bag and going
do the break 75 somewhere guys thanks
for watching be sure to subscribe to
this channel which is the main Channel
also the hit Channel don't miss out on
any content coming soon and that was my
in-depth review of the brand new
Kirkland Signature driver I say brand
new the only Kirkland Signature driver
