Warriors at Kings at Golden One Center
had that Arco feel with the cowbells and
all kind of stuff going on there they
great fans
there and Sacramento right from the jump
oh give me
that we talked about Keegan Murray by
the way needing to be huge in this game
and he was Chuck yeah I say at 30 he got
me 32 this kid can flat out get it done
he can as we say where I'm from he can
shoot that
yeah it's what they say give me yeah
look at that give
me to make you proud Kenny yeah
swipe they were they were they were
Keegan Murray shoot nothing like Deon
George got some touch out there man I I
really didn't know Ellis had a huge game
this kid here I never even know he was
alive until the night he played his but
behind off you know kaminga tried to you
know help them get back he did actually
at halftime cut the lead to four
but the excitement the energy and the
passion oh give me that never ceased and
that was that was more amazing than
anything for me yeah just a four-point
game at the break and then Steph he
makes it look stepless for the most part
but tonight was a tough night all around
for Golden State they were down one and
then Sacramento just took control of
this game for the rest of the way out
and
one Steph
man quit fing the jump
shooter 8875 at this point with time
running out in the third quarter and
there's that man again is on fire right
there what you got to do Kenny oh you
got to get the children and the women
and and the dogs
out Deon cleaning up
inside he had 16 and
12 Harrison Barnes chipping in oh the
pass with 17 all the Sacramento starters
and double
figures and uh it's the end of the night
and the end of the season for Steph and
for clay who went 0 for 10 on the N uh
Klay Thompson has played
954 games in his career regular season
and postseason three first time first
time that he's played at least 12
minutes and not scored wow
and 118 to 94 is your final what do you
say we hear from Keegan Murray let's do
it hey Keegan from the opening tip you
just looked aggressive and ready for
tonight what was it that was different
and what was the mindset change that you
kind of went through for this game uh I
mean I mean we played them what like 10
times the last whatever amount of time
and I just knew kind of what my spots
are going to be going into the game so
um just stayed aggressive and uh just
capitalize on that Keegan too for you
one very serious about this did you
change anything in your routine like did
you have your weees this morning or
anything like that and then two like
would you call this a signature game for
yourself uh no I did not change anything
I haven't changed anything since my
rookie year but uh I mean it's I feel
like I've had a lot of good games um and
I think this is kind of the first the
second time where our backs been against
the wall um at the end of the year so um
I mean you could call it that but I
think it was just really good game um by
guys on our team I want to get took it
to us tonight you know the offensive
rebounds early in the game set a tone um
you know they got got into us and didn't
let us get into our offense um you know
we hung in there we had a good uh good
second quarter to keep the the game
close and we liked um you know the the
start of the of the third you know
getting Steph some space and um we just
couldn't stay with them they they
dominated us physically um I think they
had about 18 more field goal attempts
than us between the turnovers and the uh
and the offensive board so they just it
was Total Domination they they they
deserved it they were they had a great
game tonight um Mike and his staff did a
great job and um give them the credit
they deserve how do you kind of I guess
step back view the the future of this
team you know especially getting
eliminated this early yeah it's it's too
early for me to even think about that
you know um
you invest so much in in the season and
and um there's so much that goes on
um it's so emotional it's um you know
the the highs and lows of this business
are incredible that's why we're all kind
of addicted to it you can't find this um
anywhere else in in life I know I can't
um and you have to absorb the the lows
um we've been really blessed here with
amazing players and you know multiple
championships and finals appearances and
um the highest of highs and um this is
the flip side this is life this is how
it works you don't you know you don't
get to stay on top forever so um what
happens this summer and going into next
year we'll we'll worry about that later
um right now I'm just thinking about uh
our guys and um how committed they were
this year the connection they had the
effort they put in uh to put us in a
position to at least have a chance and
um we clearly weren't weren't good
enough but not for a lack of effort or U
commitment from our guys they were great
all year um it's um incredible when I
think about um you know just you think
about how difficult and physical this
game was and um these guys have had you
know our Core Group six finals runs
where you know you have 24 four of these
games you know in in one playoff run and
uh that's what I was thinking about down
this down the stretch of that game as it
was clear we were losing that um you
know Sacramento dominated um but our
guys have been fighting for so long
they're incredible competitors and
Warriors and I couldn't be prouder of
them um but you know we've got a an
offseason where we've got a lot to lot
to think about for sure Steve
um uh reference the turnover 16 of those
for 20 Sacramento points and the second
chance points 25-9 in favor of
Sacramento on this night where the Kings
wrote all this emotion uh on their home
floor early on and then it became a game
there late in the half Just Four Points
going to the going to the second half
but give Sacramento credit because when
that was a onepoint game man Full Speed
Ahead 100% you know their execution
actually surprised me uh especially
without herder and without monk two guys
who are you know can really make things
happen on an offensive in I I just
remember Kevin mccale saying something
one time and it's and it's it's similar
in terms of you know their emotion let
them run through the first half and when
he said he used to play against the
Detroit Pistons they he like they used
to be really physical early and then
Kevin would say yeah you could be
physical eventually we're going to have
to play basketball and that's when I'mma
kick your butt and so when they started
playing basketball that's when the
Sacramento Kings kick their butt no I
said before which is surprising I said
before the game Sacramento would have to
play out of this world and they did you
got five guys in high double figures uh
Golden State you know the the veterans
you know they tried to come back clay
didn't play well at all and you pointed
out in the pregame you said he's got to
be big I mean cuz he was always you know
the the you know one of the main
ingredients for their success of course
you got St you know Steph clay always
had big games big moments Draymond
always did his thing then you had the
others chip in so I knew if he was going
to play well they would have a chance he
didn't play well you got to give
Sacramento that credit uh rol the energy
of the home crowd and and they just play
well I think what needs to happen for
Golden State I think they need to think
about getting younger cuz Steve said it
can't be on top forever and they've had
a great they have an important run and
Chuck talks about it all the time and
it's true question just older now so is
it Young no you
younger veterans younger veterans or
young no both picks both no excuse me
both they got to get well first of all
they got to make a decision on Clay
that's first but I think as I told you
guys last year they got foood last year
because of Step because they had game
six at home last year and Sacramento
went in there and won they would have
never lost that game two or three years
ago if they had a close out game at home
sacamento had a better team last year
but in game seven Steph just went crazy
so people like oh the Warriors are they
good no Steph just went crazy with the
50 in game seven yeah but you but you've
always said that the better team always
wins a seven game series I thought yeah
but Mike Brown made a couple mistakes in
that Series last year number one he the
kid from Baylor he took him out the game
he should have play and also he should
have put in Alex ly because the bonus
couldn't keep Looney off the boards
those were the two reason they lost gam
good memory sir oh I remember everything
brother you don't you the
game what's your locker number uh forget
we all got the same number no but I told
you I said yo man this team is and I
said the first game I said this team is
cooked and everybody's like some fool on
the internet say Chu Parker said the
Warriors are cooked after the game one I
said not cooked they can be competitive
but for it's been a championship so what
would you do well they in trouble no
what would you do because Steph Curry's
36 you can't rebuild got to
get well they can't well they in serious
trouble because number one draymond's
got three or four more years they going
to have to make a hard decision on Clay
Clay's not going to get younger do you
sign him for three or four more years
which he won't that that's the elephant
in the room do they because if they they
got to make a decision on him and listen
we all love clay and Klay wants a max
deal he not going to get a max deal but
you see he's compromised because of the
AC
and the Achilles do you still sign him
for three or four more years what he
wants how can you get young if you're
going to sign him so they are in serious
series I just ask what would you
do what would I do you can't do a sign
and trade thir time um can't do a sign
and trade he he has reportedly lowered
his well he going to have to yeah well
but I'm saying so he's he's not like
yeah but Ernie but he's not going to get
better he going to make less money but
he ain't going to get no better
he older people don't get Sports ain't
for old people they're for young people
that's no disrespect Clay's a Hall of
Famer but he he's lowered his number but
he ain't you know just because he
lowered his number don't mean he going
to play better as he ages it doesn't
work he play better in a different role
what role he could play in a better in
in a second unit role uh but they who
going to put they going to put in there
for him yeah I mean that's the that's
why I'm saying to me if okay we say what
should they do for me you can you can't
get young you have to get younger
younger vets so you have to have guys
who have experience like it let's say
like Gary Payton who's not there like a
Gary pton Jr like the third second
that's a type of player who is young but
still a vet they cannot go and say we're
going to go in the draft and we're going
to go get draft picks and try to do this
because Steph Curry is 36 years old he
cannot wait for these young guys to get
there that's yeah and that's the problem
they they they they in serious trouble
right now going forward uh the
Sacramento Kings live to fight another
day uh Keegan Murray 32 and9 dearon Fox
had 24 Keon Ellis 15 points four
rebounds five assists three blocks and
three steals in this game and so they
move on to take on the Pelicans in New
Orleans on Friday while the season ends
for Golden State we have highlights of
the Pelicans and the Lakers when we come
back that was game one one of the playin
tournament keep it here on inside
